Carpigiani Group awarded McDonald’s coveted Global Reliability Award

The Carpigiani Group has been awarded McDonald’s coveted Global Reliability Award, which recognises the supplier ‘whose products have the highest reliability score, and consistently meet or exceed all reliability thresholds’.

Andrea Cocchi, CEO of Carpigiani Group, received the Global Reliability Award for 2017 from Jim Fox, McDonald’s Corporate Vice President of Restaurant Solutions, at a recent ceremony held in Orlando, Florida, during the 2018 Worldwide Convention of the global food giant.

Following on from earlier recognition in the form of the McDonald’s Innovation Award in 2015, Carpigiani Group was selected for the award in spite of competition from McDonald’s other suppliers.

Corporate Vice President of Restaurant Solutions, Jim Fox, explains the clear reason behind the Carpigiani Group’s latest win:

This company has a reputation for strongly recognizing the importance of reliability to McDonald’s and their customers.  Over the years, they have consistently focused on the quality and reliability of their equipment components and manufacturing capabilities. They have maintained their reliability scores under McDonald’s required threshold consistently for more than 7 years. Among all the complex pieces of equipment in the McDonald’s system they are the only supplier to achieve such results.”

With a reputation for providing the highest quality, state-of-the-art equipment and undisputed, exceptional service, Carpigiani, founded in 1946, is recognised as the global leader in the gelato equipment sector, and has been part of the world’s second largest foodservice equipment company, the Ali Group, since 1989. Having founded the highly acclaimed Carpigiani Gelato University programme in 2003, Carpigiani is dedicated to spreading the culture of artisan gelato throughout the world.

Paul Ingram, Managing Director of Carpigiani UK, enthuses about the company’s latest industry achievement:

“We are absolutely delighted to have won McDonald’s Global Reliability Award, which is a fantastic acknowledgement of the quality of our products and our commitment to the highest standards of service. Industry recognition, such as this high profile award, is a great reward for the expertise, passion and commitment of the Carpigiani team worldwide. It also recognises the value we place on developing strength and trust within all our industry relationships.”

Case Study Swoon Gelato | Bristol

The brainchild of owner Bruno Forte, whose family have been producing real Italian Gelato for well over a century, Swoon’s ethos focuses on using only the finest ingredients from around the world and combining them with a traditional process known for giving gelato its distinctive, smooth texture and delightful flavour.

Bruno starts by saying: “I had been considering setting up a gelato business for a number of years. With limited knowledge and experience myself, I took the decision to sign up for an intensive course which would at least allow me to understand the basics. Having researched different options, I decided to join the Carpigiani Gelato University in Bologna, Italy.” As the global leader in the manufacture of gelato and ice cream equipment, Carpigiani offers unrivalled expertise and decades of experience in the market. As Bruno says:

“My team and I worked closely with Carpigiani UK, who helped us design the layout and worked closely with us to specify the equipment we would need to handle the extensive range we wanted to offer and the peak demand we expected to generate.”
